Did you know that World Breastfeeding Week began yesterday? It runs this year from August 1 - August 7.
World Breastfeeding Week was created the celebrate the anniversary of the Innocenti Declaration, which was signed in 1990 and recognized the need to promote, protect, and support breastfeeding.
Statistics show us over and over again how critical breastfeeding is for the entire family unit, but we know that breastfeeding support can be difficult to access. Support of breastfeeding families AND support to access is crucial! World Breastfeeding Week aims to bring attention to these issues and help those families that are most in need.
